Grief Support & Healing
Grief is a deeply personal journey, and no two paths through it are the same. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over a decade of experience supporting grieving children, teens, and families, I specialize in walking alongside people as they navigate profound loss.
My foundation in grief work began over ten years ago at Courageous Kids in Eugene, the local branch of the Dougy Center. I started volunteering during my undergraduate studies at the University of Oregon and have since remained committed to the Courageous Kids community. Over the years, I’ve facilitated grief groups for children, teens, and parents, and have served as a camp counselor for our annual four-day overnight grief camp—a space where young people find connection, expression, and healing.
In addition to direct group work, my internship at Courageous Kids deepened my understanding of how children process grief, especially after a death by suicide. My research focused on best practices for supporting youth during such incredibly sensitive and complex losses.
In my clinical work today, I provide grief support through Oregon's Rapid Response program, offering postvention care following youth suicide or other traumatic deaths. This includes facilitating group therapy at schools, leading staff debriefings, and providing family therapy to those who have lost a child. I also lead workshops using expressive arts to process grief and regularly present to parents and educators on how to speak with children and teens about death and loss in age-appropriate, compassionate ways.
Grief work is not about “fixing” the pain—it’s about creating space for it, holding it with care, and finding a way forward together. I am honored to move alongside clients in this journey.
